noun: It is a system of color removal by lime precipitation in which the procedure involves the addition of 1,000 to 2,000 parts per million of lime (calcium oxide) to caustic extract. Also known as "stoichiometric lime", this procedure is a modification of the "massive line treatment" system whereby concentractions of 20,000 ppm of lime is added.
